About Me

People say I'm:
-
Describe Yourself:Crusader, woman, mother, artist, writer, friend, community activist, concerned about bio-diversity and sustainability, crazy about kids and greater humanity, think people are fascinating and good, love trees and the serenity I feel in nature. What breaks my heart? Domestic violence, child abuse, exploitation of women and children around the world, meanness and cruelty, intolerance, racism, bigotry, misogyny, violence, abuse of chemicals in our environment and bodies, evil and the unnecessary hoarding of resources.

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:At first it was just validation for my writing efforts... but now I love to give it too! And although I never thought it would happen to me... after all who gets into social networks who has a real life I told myself... I really care about my Gather friends.
I feel like I have found the modern equivalent of pen pals. We can be genuine with each other and bare it all emotionally, spiritually or whatever moves us that day. If we create fantasy, people show interest in our imaginations. This is SO rare in life.
The feedback is mostly positive (how often can we depend on that in our non-Gather lives?) and when it isn't? Defenders come to the fore and show us that we are never really isolated or alone on this site. Great group of Gatherers.

Angela A., Feb 27, 2009, 10:58PM ESTThanks for being such a good sport. I do love writing and wanted to accept the post. But, because of the politics I could not.
I honestly don't like political posts, it's just a pet peeve of mine.
Anywho, I do wish you the best weekend. And, hope you feel free to post to the group if you have any lovely poems or stories for me.

Margy Rydzynski, Feb 18, 2009, 9:50PM ESTElizabeth, thank you for your comment on my Gather blog. Yes, the insomniac journal was a good idea which is sparking off other good ideas. My husband, bless his heart, is a good guy: the best I could ever hope for. But, he snores the house down, particularly when he's tired. Yet, when he's quiet or when I'm asleep and stay that way, I do sleep better when he's there.
